Locals turned out last Sunday, May 5, to support the Laguna Beach Community Clinic, raising a net total of $110,000 in support of Mental Wellness. Guests enjoyed tapas and margaritas on the Terrace of [seven-degrees] followed by a Mexican-style dinner and a lively auction.
“We’re committed to caring for all the health needs of our patients, including their mental and emotional wellbeing,” stated Dr. Jorge Rubal, the Clinic’s CEO & CMO.
B.spoke custom menswear donated four packages valued at over $2,000 each that engaged guests in a fun and fierce bidding competition. The Ranch at Laguna Beach, Monarch Beach Golf Links, Bear Coast Coffee, and Dr. Furze also donated high value auction packages that were snapped up.
The highlight of the evening was a heartfelt message by longtime patient Scott Sumner. Scott shared his courageous story of battling cancer, organ transplant, and mental health challenges, stating, “The staff of the Clinic took care of all me needs with compassion, and restored my hope, giving me strength to press on.”
Board Member George Heed and Dr. Korey Jorgensen kicked off the paddle raise with a $20,000 challenge grant. “Our aim was to raise a $100,000, due to the overwhelming support of our community we exceeded our goal. It’s incredibly gratifying to see this level of commitment to community health,” stated Rubal.
The Laguna Beach Community Clinic is located at 362 Third St.
